COMPWEST Bookkeeping Solutions is a Coquitlam, BC, based bookkeeping firm specializing in helping small businesses thrive.  With over 15 years accounting and bookkeeping experience, Cassandra Russo is the owner and founder of COMPWEST Bookkeeping Solutions.

Cassandra began her bookkeeping career in the restaurant industry, which became her passion for many years.  She graduated as valedictorian from the Financial Management program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 2005.  From there she joined the audit and advisory team at a leading large accounting firm in Vancouver, BC, to pursue her Chartered Accounting designation.  While working as an auditor and studying at the CA School of Business, she decided it was time to return to her passion, the restaurant industry, once again.  This move lead to an acting Financial Controller position in a successful hotel and restaurant in downtown Vancouver, BC.  She started COMPWEST Bookkeeping Solutions to allow her to focus on what she enjoys most about accounting and bookkeeping – the details, as well as to provide flexibility and variety in her work.

Cassandra has extensive experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, as well as the retail, service, manufacturing, property management, insurance, financial, and construction industries.  Her positions working in industry and in public practice have made her an expert in maintaining GAAP-compliant accounting records, internal controls, cash flow management, budgeting, and cost analysis.

As an Intuit-Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor, Cassandra is expert in Quickbooks setup, support, and training.  She is also experienced with Simply Accounting, AccPac Plus, JD Edwards, and Great Plains Dynamics accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
